Ali Frandsen, a senior at Ames High, won the girls 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.16 at the 113th Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Frandsen became the seventh female athlete in Iowa prep history to sweep both hurdling events at the Drake Relays, following Mackenzie Carney of Waukee Northwest last year and Waukee High in 2021. Frandsen also ascended to the No. 9 all-time Iowa high school competitor in the 400 hurdles.
